Stanton Earl Fitch, 66, of Overland Park, KS passed away Monday, November 19, 2018 at Kansas City Hospice. He was born November 12, 1952 at Independence, MO to Glen A. and Esther Louise Fitch. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Steven Fitch, and sister, Beverly Needels.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Michelle; brother Ronald Fitch; daughters Angela Kemp (Kyle) of Lenexa; Leslie Glenn (Jeremy) of Overland Park; sons, Kevin Fitch (Jennifer) of St. Joseph; Eric Fitch (Jill) of Chicago; and seven grandchildren: Ava, Kole and Addison Kemp; Hogan and Lily Glenn, Stearling Fitch, and Rowan Fitch; and many nieces and nephews.
Stan graduated from Turner High School in 1971 and from Emporia State University with a degree in Business in 1975. He worked for Hallmark for 13 years and 19 years for Overhead Door of Kansas City.
Stan’s favorite pleasure was watching KU basketball. He also loved music and played in several bands during middle and high school. Stan coached youth basketball and baseball for girls and boys for many years. With his dry sense of humor the kids thought him to be very funny. He played baseball through his youth and was a good bowler. He pitched and played first base. Stan survived a tornado in Emporia, Kansas in 1974 and prostate cancer in 2016.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society can be made at the funeral home.
