JoAnn Brown, 93, of Kansas City, MO, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2022.  Visitation will be 4-6:00 PM followed by Funeral Services at 6:00 PM Wednesday, August 10, at Holmeswood Baptist Church, 9700 Holmes Rd., Kansas City,  MO, 64131. Burial in Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Holmeswood Community Choir.

     JoAnn was born May 28, 1929, in Kansas City, KS to Melvin and Myrtle (Hill) Hale.  She was a member of Lead Hill Baptist where she was a longtime Sunday School Teacher, Order of Eastern Star (Sherman Chapter #8) and Past Worthy Matron, and a member of the Women's Auxiliary VFW in Lead Hill, AR.  In 1978 they purchased Highway 125 Boat Dock in Peel, AR.  After 10 years they sold the business and eventually moved back to Kansas City to be closer to their family. 

      She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Marvin L. Brown, brother Harold Albert Knight, sisters Mary Long and Melva Thomas Dayton.  JoAnn is survived by her children Richard (Anna) Brown, Alan Brown, Patricia (Tim) Freeman, Lord Larry (Lady Trish) Brown, BFD, five grandchildren Kasandra, Ashley, Sean, Amanda, David, 5 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends
