Sep 07, 1972---Apr 21, 2024

Andrea Denise Lee, 51, of Shawnee, KS, passed away early Sunday morning, April 21st, 2024.  There will be a visitation at Porter Funeral Home, 8535 Monrovia, Lenexa, KS, on Saturday, April 27th at 12:30 pm, followed by a funeral service at 2:30.  Interment will be at Lenexa Cemetery, 8805 Pflumm Road, Lenexa, KS, immediately following the service.  Memorial contributions may be made to the mission’s organization that Andrea supported: Evangelistic Faith Missions.

Andrea was born on September 7th, 1972, in Kansas City, MO.  the third child of Daniel and Lynda (Arender) Lee.  She was born with arthrogryposis and had surgery for pyloric stenosis 10 days after she was born.   This affected her mobility for the rest of her life.  Andrea was the middle child, with three sisters and one brother who all loved her dearly.

Andrea decided to become an Accountant after taking an accounting class her junior year of high school.  She received a scholarship to attend the University of Missouri (Kansas City), where she graduated with honors with her B.S. in Accounting.  She passed all four parts of the Certified Public Accountant exam in her first sitting for the exam, which was very unusual in the days when all four parts were tested at the same time.  She worked as an Accountant in the public accounting field as well as private companies in KS, IN, FL, and NC.  She had a large impact on her coworkers and made lasting friendships with many.

Andrea grew up in the Holiness church with her father and grandfather being her primary pastors during her formative years.  She loved the Lord with all her heart and did her best to live a life that was pleasing to God.

Although Andrea was always the smallest one in her family, she was also the mightiest.  She loved to read and wanted her chocolate every day.  She loved singing with her sisters and laughing with her family as they played games on the weekends.   Andrea loved being an aunt and always made special memories with each of her nieces and nephew.  She never wanted to sit in silence.  She might have the radio on while she worked in her room even though she wouldn’t be able to tell you what she was listening to.  She also enjoyed traveling and had the opportunity to visit Italy with her sisters last May.   She took care of her family in her own quiet way, keeping all the household records and making sure everything was up to date.  She is greatly missed by her family.

Andrea is survived in death by her parents, Daniel and Lynda (Arender) Lee, siblings Lanae (Ted) Sabinas, Danny Lee, Debbie Lee, and Teresa Lee, two nieces and nephew Leandra (Michael) Zehner, Wyatt Sabinas and Danae Sabinas, and a very large extended family.

We are so sorry to hear about Andrea. So many memories are about the Lee family. Cynthia her time with you all and even towards the end of her life, she spoke about each one of you with love. I'm sure she was greeted by her grandparents and she is totally healed. She is probably running and jumping and having the best time ever. It is hard for us back here because we miss them and see them in everything we do. But I'm so thankful that we have a HOPE to be together again in Heaven one day. Love and prayers!

I am so sorry for your families loss! Andrea was such a sweet and kind young lady who loved God in her quiet, beautiful way! There was never a question about her commitment to our Savior. Heaven just gets sweeter and sweeter. I am praying for your family as you try to adjust to life without her! It is tuff, "but God"!!!!!! He knows our every hearts cry and comes to comfort with His sweet peace. He is good all the time and will give you sweet peace if you call out to Him. For me, the "missing" has been the hardest part, but I try to remember what they are enjoying at those times of pain and missing. May His comfort surround you all!!

My deepest condolences, thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of Andrea Lee. Her stature was small but her faith, personality and humor were all strong and mighty. The love she had for her family was evident. We shared some lifetime memories and experiences and, definitely, many laughs. One day, I shared with her that we should forever refer to ourselves as “the Seasoned Accountants” vs the “Oldest Accountants” of the group…we both laughed and used the term often! Although we only knew one another for about 8 months, memories of Andrea will forever remind me of one of my most favorite scriptures: A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. Proverbs 17:22

My sincere condolences and prayers to Andrea's family and friends. Although I didn't have the pleasure of working with Andrea for very long, I am so glad that I did get to know her. I especially enjoyed a recent company "game day", where Andrea's playful competitiveness and sense of humor shined. We shared our love of kitties and of course, chocolate. Rest in peace, sweet Andrea.

Praying for each of you. I loved being able to know Andrea in my younger years and being in and out of the Lee home many many times. Her quiet disposition as she would sit and listen to her younger sister and I chat and she would get so tickled at our expense. She loved her family and I know she loved Jesus. I will continue to pray for the family as you all navigate a new normal. Praying you feel the Fathers arms around each of you! Much love!

I am so sorry to hear about Andrea. I had the pleasure of working with Andrea in the Accounting Dept. for 4 years at Kansas City Southern. Several of us in the department enjoyed going to lunch together & the China Town Super Buffet was one of our favorites! Andrea was very kind and sweet and I'm so glad I got to know her. God bless her and my thoughts and prayers to the family.
