Pauline (Wiseman) Smith 97, of Kansas City, Kansas went to be with her Lord July 3, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. Funeral Services will be Thursday, July 5, at CenterPointe Church, 401 N. 78th St., K.C.KS with the visitation from 5-7 p.m. and Memorial Services at 7 p.m. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Moses Clark Cemetery, Climax Springs, MO.

Pauline and Emmitt owned a store in Edwards, Missouri, she worked at Pratt Whitney during the war (she was a Rosie the Riveter). They owned a store in Climax Springs, Missouri. Then they moved to Kansas City, Missouri where their home was a boarding house to many making the transition from the country to the city, during that time she raised four boys. She attended Longview Junior College and Draughon’s Business College. Pauline worked as a secretary for Commerce Bank Downtown Kansas City, Missouri, and as a secretary for the Social Security Administration in Kansas City, Missouri. She became a secretary at Bendix/Allied Signal where she retired after 22 years. After that she taught Special Education at Heartland Elementary School, in Overland Park, Kansas. She taught English as a second language at Johnson County Community College for many coming to American from other countries. She became a teacher aid for the Merriam Grade School in Merriam, Kansas and served until she was 90 years of age. Pauline was always very active in her church where she taught Sunday School, played the piano, served as a Deacon and an Elder in the University Heights Christian Church, Kansas City, Missouri and the Merriam Christian Church in Merriam, Kansas.

She is survived by siblings, Wilda Vogel, Virginia Curtright and Richard Wiseman. Four sons Robert Joe (Sharon) Smith of Kansas City, Kansas, James (Cecilia) Smith of Independence, Missouri, Duane Smith of Baltimore, Maryland and Mark Smith of Shawnee, Kansas. Ten grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Emmitt Smith, her parents Roy and Bessie Wiseman, Sister Juanita Wiseman and her Brother Larry Wiseman.

I worked with your mom for several years at Honeywell and she was a fun part of our lunch bunch. She was such a sweet lady and always had a joke for us. I'm sorry for your loss.
