Mrs. Anita Constance Laporte Tripp, age 80 died in Forsyth, Missouri on June 3, 2025. Anita was born in Putnam, Connecticut on August 21, 1944. Anita grew up in Rhode Island and moved to Kansas after meeting Ronald L. Tripp while he was stationed in the Navy. Anita and Ronald L. Tripp married on June 10th 1967 and raised 3 daughters.They have 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, with 2 more great-grandchildren on the way. Anita worked at the Kansas State School for the Blind for 25 years as a Dormitory Teacher, and retired in 2006. Anita loved her working years at the Blind School and touched many students’ lives.
Surviving family members include: her spouse, Ronald L. Tripp, Daughters, Michelle Elevier, Sue Pollan, Cherie Stanley and spouse Shawn Stanley. Grandchildren include: Valerie House and spouse Nate House, Robert Pollan and fiance Alex Ready, Adam Hill and spouse Stephanie Hill, Thomas Elevier,Thomas Stanley, and Danielle Stanley. Great grandchildren include: Hadleigh House and Carson Hill. Surviving siblings include Emile Laporte of St. Petersburg, Florida, Trudy Broome of Mountainair, New Mexico, Irene DiCataldo and David Laporte of Liberty, South Carolina, and Claire Stehle of Arvada, Colorado. Anita was preceded in death by her parents Joseph Emile Laporte and Gertrude Veronica Laporte, and a brother, Robert “Bobby” Laporte, and Robert Craig Pollan “Son in Law”.
Anita enjoyed collecting antiques, shopping at flea markets, and had a flair for decorating. Anita always made holidays special and enjoyed hosting family events. Anita always held onto her Rhode Island roots and would share her memories by telling many stories and would cook clam cakes and chowder for everyone.
Visitation for Anita will be on June 11, 2025 at Porter Funeral Home, 1835 Minnesota Ave., KCK at 12:00 p.m., with Services to follow at 1 p.m.
Burial will be at Chapel Hill Cemetery in KCK.
