Bryan W. Schottman - March 8, 1990 - September 19, 2023, Kansas City, Missouri. Our dear son and brother passed away unexpectedly on September 19, 2023. He will be dearly missed by family and friends. Bryan attended Rosehill Elementary, Indian Woods Middle School, Shawnee Mission South High School, and graduated from Avila University with a BFA in Graphic Design. He was presently working as a Front-end Web Developer II with Anthology.
Bryan was a creative spirit, who spent most of his time growing up doodling in notebooks, trying out new skateboarding tricks, enjoying music, playing video games, and loving animals. He spent his younger years playing soccer, tennis, baseball, and basketball. However, he discovered his favorite sport as an adult, disc golf. When he wasn’t working, Bryan could be found at the disc golf course, with his beloved border collie, Charlie. He considered it a successful day at the course, if both he and Charlie came home with their discs. Bryan also loved to travel. He enjoyed snowboarding in Colorado, visiting his grandma in New Hampshire, attending live concerts, and exploring new and unexpected places.
Bryan was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Dr. Gerhard “Garry” Schottman Jr. and Joanne Schottman, maternal grandfather Col. Paul F. Lessard USMC Ret, and maternal uncle Steve Folan. He is survived by his parents, Keith and Beth Schottman, sister, Megan (Nick) Cole, maternal grandmother Dorothy Lessard, maternal uncle Paul “Joey” Lessard (Jayne), maternal aunt Sharon Folan, paternal aunt Debra Dorzweiler (Richard), paternal aunt Julie Mullins (Monte) and nieces Eliza and Emilia Cole who will forever miss him. He is also survived by his cousins; Matt (Ann), Nathan (Pam), Kyle (Tim), Leah, Tyler (Calla), Taylor (Brandon), Brent, Jordan (Leah), and Evan. He leaves behind his best furfriend, Charlie, and his two cats, Tiny and Medlee.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, September 28th from 4:30-6:30 at Porter Funeral Home, 8535 Monrovia St, Lenexa, KS 66215.
