Carolyn O. Englund, Lenexa Kansas, passed away May 25, 2026 at the age of 93. Services will be held Monday, June 1st at 12:00 PM at Lakeview Village, in the Heritage Activity Center chapel. A reception will follow services. Burial will be in the Assaria Lutheran Church Cemetery in Assaria, KS. Carolyn was born December 25, 1932, in Salina, KS, the daughter of Torsten and Marion (Anderson) Olsson. She graduated from Assaria High School in 1950 and from Kansas State University in 1954 with a degree in Home Economics and Education. She was active on campus, being a member of Student Council, Mortar Board, and Alpha Chi Omega. While at Kansas State during the first week of school, she met Blaine Englund, whom she married after graduation. Their first home was in Milford, Michigan, where she taught for a short time before starting their family.

After 30 years in Michigan, they returned to Kansas, living in Overland Park, then Lakeview Village in Lenexa.

Carolyn was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Prairie Village until its closing. At the time of her death she was a member of Lutheran  Church of the Resurrection. While she remained a member at LCR, she began attending services in the chapel on the Lakeview Village campus. She belonged to the Sarah Circle, its book clubs, and she served where she could. 

She was a long-time volunteer for Lutheran Braille Workers, and enjoyed her Quester meetings and its conventions. Hobbies were reading and counted cross stitch. Carolyn and her husband did much traveling in the states and abroad.

She was preceded in death by her husband Blaine of 62 years. Survivors include daughters Nancy, Irene (Ken), son Norm (Deb), seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
