Crystal Ann (May) Maguire, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and dedicated nurse, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2025.
Born on June 16, 1957, in Concordia, Kansas, Crystal was raised in the small town of Tipton, Kansas. She earned her RN BSN at Marymount College in Salina, KS where she met her husband Jim. Crystal and Jim married in 1982. After starting a family they moved to Olathe, Kansas, where she lived for the past forty years. Crystal dedicated over 40 years of her life to nursing and providing care to countless patients. Her commitment to her work and her kindness made her a respected and admired member of the medical community.
Crystal is survived by her devoted husband of 43 years, James (Jim) Maguire of Olathe. Together, they built a loving family and a life filled with joy and dedication. She leaves behind her four children and their spouses: Christopher and Lindsay (Kirk) Maguire of Rockwall, Texas; Daniel and Kayla (Maguire) Johnson of Overland Park, Kansas; Kimberly Maguire of Prairie Village, Kansas; and Collin and Amanda (Cieri) Maguire of Olathe, Kansas. Crystal's legacy continues through her five adored grandchildren: Tristan and Griffin Maguire, and Kate, Colette, and Patrick Johnson. Crystal took immense pride in her family and found great happiness in their accomplishments and time spent together. Preceding Crystal in death are her parents, Arthur and Cynthia May of Tipton, Kansas, in laws, James Maguire Sr. and Marie Maguire of Havertown, PA. Also Jeff Dunn of Castle Rock, CO. She is also survived by her loving siblings and their spouses: Steve and Carmel (May) Dlabal, Curtis and Christine May, Meredith and Cheri (May) Marrs, Steve and Cyrena (May) Criswell, and Todd and Cyrilla (May) Fahlsing. Additionally, she is survived by her sister-in-law, Cathy Maguire, RSM, numerous nieces and nephews, and countless friends.
A visitation will be held Thursday July 17th, 2025 from 6 PM- 8PM at St. Paul Catholic Church with mass of Christian burial to honor and celebrate Crystal's life on Friday, July 18th, 2025 at 11am at St. Paul Catholic Church 21650 W. 115th Terr Olathe, Kansas 66061. Family and friends are invited to gather and pay their respects to a woman who touched many lives with her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love.Crystal will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she loved. May she rest in eternal peace.
