Daniel Joseph Clarke, 73, of Lansing, Kansas, passed away on August 2, 2026.
Dan was born on February 21, 1953, in Kansas City, Kansas, to William Clarke and Lillian (Burch) Clarke. He graduated from Wyandotte High School with the Class of 1971.
In 1974, Dan began his career with Associated Wholesale Grocers, where he worked faithfully for 35 years before retiring in 2009. His strong work ethic and dedication were evident throughout his career.
On May 3, 1975, Dan married the love of his life, Carol J. Hershberger, in Kansas City, Kansas. In 1980, they welcomed their son, Matthew B. Clarke, who was a source of great pride and joy.
Dan had a remarkable talent for handiwork and woodworking, especially refinishing antique furniture. He found satisfaction in restoring cherished pieces and creating beautiful craftsmanship with his own hands. Following retirement, Dan and Carol enjoyed traveling together, making lasting memories as they explored new places.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lillian Clarke; his beloved wife, Carol J. Clarke; and his brother, Thomas M. Clarke.
He is lovingly survived by his son, Matthew B. Clarke, and son-in-law, Andrew Webster, of Wichita, Kansas; his brother, Peter S. Clarke, of Kansas City, Missouri; along with extended family members and friends who will remember him fondly.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dan's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
