Garry Floyd Laird, 81, Overland Park KS, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at Good Samaritan Society of Olathe. Friends may call 4-6 p.m. Friday January 2nd at Porter Funeral Home, 8535 Monrovia St. Lenexa, KS. Private family internment at Leavenworth National Cemetery. Garry was born March7th, 1944 in Huntsville, Arkansas, the son of Floyd and Helen Laird. The family moved to Lansing, MI in 1946 where upon completing high school, Garry enlisted in the Air Force at the age of 18. Garry served overseas for 8 years, retired from the Air Force, but continued to serve in the Army Reserve for 12 years in Texas and Kansas. His civilian career was in sales and telecommunications.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and multiple aunts, uncles and cousins. Garry is survived by his wife of 46 years Pam, son Aaron Blosser and daughter Kristin D’Augstine and husband Brett, sister and brother in law Marjean and Charlie Chapman of Florida, and several nieces and nephews. He will be missed by all.
