Griffin Thomas Lamb, 18 of Lenexa, Kansas died unexpectedly on October 24, 2021.
He was born on November 6, 2002, in Overland Park, KS, to Tige and Vickie Lamb. Griffin was a loving and protective older brother to his sister Amelia. He attended Holy Trinity Catholic School and graduated from Shawnee Mission Northwest High School in May 2020.
Griffin learned at an early age how to make people laugh, lighting up every room he entered and greeting everyone with a big hug and a smile. Blessed with the gift of gab, he always managed to find an audience (one might call him a class clown-much to his parent’s dismay). Griffin also had a knack for entertaining younger kids, whether the siblings of his friends or his youngest cousins—they all loved Griffin.
He lived a life of “keeping the faith” learned from his years of involvement in Life Teen at Holy Trinity. He enjoyed his summers on the Life Teen trips and made every trip memorable with his stories and antics—he was “truly a light in those times”.
Griffin was known for his love of his family, friends, fishing, and riding dirt bikes with his dad. He enjoyed his time traveling with his family on trips to the beach, the mountains, and lakes. He loved learning everything about cars and could spot a make and model from a mile away. Griffin’s social nature found him trying various sports and clubs, and he discovered a love of gaming to become everyone’s favorite video game partner.
His love of cars led him to enroll in the Automotive Technology Program at Pittsburg State University, where he was a freshman. Griffin recently joined the Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity to expand his ever-growing group of friends and brothers and made a lasting impact despite his short time with them.
Griffin is survived by his parents Tige and Vickie (Hansen) Lamb and his sister Amelia Lamb; his grandparents Lynn and Darlene Lamb; Gene and Fay Hansen; his aunts & uncles Rick and Laura (Hansen) Urbain; Ryan and Tracy (Lamb) Brown; David Hansen, Mike Hansen; cousins Nick and Zach Urbain & Ian Brown. He was preceded in death by his uncles Dennis Hansen and Andy Lamb.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 28th from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm at Holy Trinity Catholic Church (13615 West 92nd Street, Lenexa, KS). A funeral Mass will also be held at 10:30 am on Friday, October 29th at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. A burial service will take place Friday at Resurrection Cemetery (83rd and Quivira Road, Lenexa, KS) at approximately 1:30 pm.
Griffin was taken from his friends and family far too early and will be greatly missed. At this time, in lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made in honor of Griffin to the Diamond Blackfan Anemia Foundation (DBAF) https://dbafoundation.org , so he can continue his legacy of protecting his little sister.
