Harriet Maurine (Toots) Celano, 91, of Leawood, Kansas, passed away peacefully at 7:30 p.m., Monday, November 17, 2025 at Homestead Estates of Leawood.

Harriet was born on June 25, 1934, in Atchison, Kansas, to Raymond and Maurine (Caldwell) Clark. She graduated high school from Mount St. Scholastica in Atchison. She worked for Southwestern Bell phone company for several years before getting married and having children. Later, Harriet dedicated 25 years of service as a unit secretary working at Overland Park Regional Hospital of which she enjoyed immensely. There, she created lifetime friendships with many of the staff.

Those who knew Harriet will remember her zest for life and her remarkable spirit. 

She loved cheering on her beloved Kansas City Chiefs.  She found joy in being surrounded by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, spending time with friends, offering love to all who knew her, and reflecting fondly on her childhood growing up on the family farm. 

Survivors include her son, Mike McAtee (Kalissa) of Colorado Springs, CO; three daughters, Janet McAtee (Steve Sweetin) of Overland Park, Jane McAtee of Lenexa, Julie Moise (Glenn) of Weatherby Lake; eight grandchildren, Kristyn Antonucci (Anthony), Kara Reif (Brian), Halston McAtee (Josh) Sean Moise (Abbey), Ryan Moise, Faith Moise, Victoria Fox (Blake), and Audrey Kaufman; five great-grandchildren, Addalyn, Angelo, Aubryn, Hunter, and Lydia.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Ray and Maurine Clark; siblings; Larry Clark and Mary Arensberg; and her grandson, Ian Moise. 

A Memorial will be held on Sunday, November 30th, 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.  Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life Service following at 2:00 p.m. at the Porter Funeral Home, 8535 Monrovia, Lenexa, Kansas. All guests are requested to wear red or your favorite casual Chiefs attire.

In remembrance of Harriet, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to Ian’s Rainbow Flu Foundation and/or by providing personal acts of kindness and compassion to others in Harriet’s honor.
