John Lewis Hancock passed away October 7th, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loving family. John was born February 24, 1943 to Lewis and Cleta (Ray) Hancock in Mineral Wells, Texas. 

John obtained a bachelors degree and worked in construction sales. He was united in marriage with Karen Barrett. 

John is survived by his wife Karen; sons, Jon B. Hancock of Lenexa, Kansas and Todd Christopher Hancock of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; brother, Jim and Sherri Hancock and their children Becky Gillum and Jenni Halverson of Norman, Oklahoma; sister, Holly Mercadante and her children Tommy Mercadante of Highlawn, California and Susie Wyant of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
