Keith Wayne Janne, 91, passed away on February 4, 2026, in Lenexa, Kansas. He was born in rural Russell County, Kansas.

He is survived by his wife, Vivian Janne, of Lenexa, Kansas; his daughter, Kathi Nichols (Mark), of Shawnee, Kansas, and his son, Kim Janne (Diane), of Madison, New Jersey. He also leaves behind four granddaughters and one great‑grandson.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Charley and Meta Janne, and by his brothers, Everett Janne and Kenneth Janne.

After two years of serving in the United States Army, Keith earned his Master’s Degree in Education and spent his career working in public education. He taught middle school math at Coronado Middle School, later became a middle school counselor at Arrowhead Junior High, and completed his career as a guidance counselor at Sumner Academy of Arts & Science, all in Kansas City, Kansas.

He raised his family in Kansas City, Kansas, and after retiring, moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to be near his daughter’s family. Several years later, the families returned to the Kansas City area.

Keith was a graduate and dedicated supporter of Kansas State University and enjoyed following sports throughout his life.

A private family memorial service will be held later in the spring.
