Oct 04, 1957---Oct 03, 2025

Kevin Richard Stanley, 67, of Olathe, KS, passed away Friday, October 3, 2025. Funeral mass will be 10am on Saturday October 18, 2025 at Villa St. Francis Catholic Care Center 16600 W. 126th Street Olathe, KS. 66062.

Kevin was born October 4, 1957 at St. Lukes Hospital in Kansas City, MO. The son of Harold and Joan Stanley. He grew up in Overland Park, KS with his sister Gina, three years his junior, until the age of 10 when the family moved to Lenexa and two years later at the age of 12, his little sister Lisa was born.  Kevin was a graduate from Shawnee Mission Northwest Highschool.  After graduating he eventually landed in the telecommunications business installing complex phone systems for commercial businesses.

Kevin came to live at Villa St. Francis in 2018 when he was no longer able to care for himself with his worsening MS symptoms. Care is exactly what he received at the Villa.  The many nurses, aides, staff and volunteers quickly became part of his family.  He loved being able to go to mass every day and his faith grew because of it.  He was often cracking jokes with the staff, making them laugh. His absence at the Villa will be felt by many.

Kevin is survived by his sisters Gina Norton (Dave) of Lawrence, KS, Lisa Downey (Ed) of Shawnee, KS, his son Michael Stanley of Overland Park, KS, his daughter Rachael Whitten of Shawnee, KS, his Nephew Cameron Norton of Lawrence, KS, his nieces Joan Downey and Sydney Downey of Shawnee, KS and three grand-children Zoey Whitten, Nick Kadets and Piper Stanley.

Kevin’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all of the care givers at Villa St. Francis that took such good care of Kevin. The Villa was his home and he considered all of you his extended family. God Bless you all.

Memorial contributions may be given in Kevin’s name to Villa St. Francis Catholic Care Center.

My how I will miss you, Kevin! You have been in my life since I can remember. You were always the best friend to my dad and tried your best to keep him out of trouble but also made the best of all our times together! I’ll never forget you bringing dad to Worlds of Fun when I was in Middle School, to save me from getting in trouble. That was the only time I was ever really in “trouble.” I will miss your laugh, sense of humor and witty soul! May you keep celebrating life in Heaven and know how loved you were and will always be! I am so glad dad and I got to hear your voice a few months ago. God bless you and your family! Sending prayers to all!
