After a courageous battle with cancer, Kirsten Renz- Sweatt passed away on March 7, 2026. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, Kirsten had the most genuine spirit and a giving heart. Her battle and the kindness she showed as she fought inspired everyone around her. 

Kirsten was preceded in death by her grandmother, Yvonne. She is lovingly survived by her two children, Kelsey and William; her parents, Michael and Robert; her sister, Maura; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends that were like family.  

Kirsten cared deeply for all living things bright and beautiful. She enjoyed giving back through projects such as the Parish Giving Tree and Holy Family Soup Kitchen. She was also an avid Master Gardener while she lived in Mississippi, Kansas and Ohio.  

She will be remembered by her love, devotion to her family, and the laughter she brought into the lives of those around her witty sense of humor. She always had time and effort to give to the people she loved. Most days, it felt like there wasn’t a problem she couldn’t solve because she was always going to help try. She was the best mom to her two kids and a loving sister and daughter.

Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 AM followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 13, 2026 at Queen of the Holy Rosary, 7023 West 71st Street, Overland Park, KS.  Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, KS.
