After battling leukemia for over 5 years, Maria De Los Angeles Macedo passed away on September 26, 2026 at her home in Gardner, Kansas with her four daughters by her side. Born on July 13, 1979 in El Rodeo, Jalisco Mexico, Maria was Eduwiges Garcia and Indalecio Macedo’s fourth child and loved her nine siblings Salvador, Chon, Alma, Indalecio, Cesar, Flor, Rosa, Tony and Erika. Additionally, Maria was a loving wife to German Morales, and proud mom to Stephanie, Lisa, Kelsey and Stacey Morales Macedo. 

During her time with us, Maria loved her community, church and family. Maria and her family are part of the Gardner community where she was the proud owner of La Carreta Mexican Restaurant. In addition, she was a devout Catholic and active member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Olathe, Kansas. Maria loved her family more than anything and enjoyed singing, dancing and laughing with those she loved. Maria’s happiness was contagious, her love was abundant and she was the strongest and most beautiful woman there ever was. 

Maria was diagnosed with leukemia in 2021, but when most would see this diagnosis as life ending, Maria never did. Maria never let her cancer stop her from living her life. She always had a smile on her face and showed everyone that life should be lived to its fullest potential no matter the circumstances. Unfortunately, Maria’s cancer was too strong in the end. Even though she is in heaven now with her dad, she has impacted those around her, and she will live on through their memories.

Visitation and Rosary will be 10:00 am followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 29 at St. Paul Catholic Church, 21650 W. 116th Terrace, Olathe, KS 66061.
