Oct 24, 1955---Apr 06, 2026

Nancy Canning Green, 70, Lenexa, KS, passed away Monday, April 6, 2026, at the Hemsley House of Lenexa peacefully after several weeks on Hospice. A visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 25th, at Community Covenant Church, 15700 W. 87th St. Pkwy. Lenexa, KS. There will be a Celebration of Life service immediately following at 11 a.m. Flowers should be sent directly to the church.

Nancy was born October 24, 1955, in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of James and Eleanor Canning. The oldest of four daughters, Nancy was a loving and caring big sister to Brenda Linkenbach, Gerry Green and Christie Daughterty. Nancy met her husband Dave Green her freshman year at Ohio State University. She graduated with a Bachelor's degree in French, and married Dave soon after. Nancy taught French class to middle and high school students for several years before stepping back to raise her three children. Many knew Nancy as the person welcoming them to the neighborhood, hosting various parties, or sewing custom luxury draperies and bedding for those around the city. She could always be found near a good book, or completing a new home project with Dave. Her favorite places were Paris, Ohio Stadium, and at home with her loving family, but she looked forward to going to the beach each year and spending all day laying in the sun. Devoutly religious, Nancy was an active member of Community Covenant Church, as well as various Bible study groups over the years. Her family is filled with peace knowing that she is with the Lord.

Nancy was preceded in death by her mother and father, James and Eleanor Canning, and her niece, Carly Daugherty.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Dave Green, children: Kate Crall (Matt), Joe Green (Kalissa) and Abby Green, as well as her three grandchildren, Emma and Charlie Crall and Wade Green.

“In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, so that where I am, there you may be also.” ?? John 14:2-3 Dear Ms. Green, I am deeply sorry for your loss. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. I remember how fondly you spoke of your mother, especially during our conversations about faith and your church upbringing, and it was clear how much she meant to you. I pray that you and your family find comfort in the love you shared and in the cherished memories that will always remain. May you also find peace in knowing that she is resting in God’s eternal presence, still watching over you with love and encouragement. Wishing you strength, peace, and support in the days ahead. Peace & Blessings, An’Dreus D. Lowry (Your former student)
