Patrick David Stanley, 75, Bonner Springs, KS passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at KU Hospital. The visitation will be held from 5pm-7pm on Thursday, March 19, at Porter Funeral Home, 8535 Monrovia, Lenexa, KS.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Friday, March 20, 2026, at St Martin in the Fields Episcopal Church, 1501 Edwardsville Dr, Edwardsville, KS. Graveside service will follow in the Edwardsville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to St Martin in the Fields Episcopal Church of Edwardsville, KS, or the American Stroke Foundation of Overland Park, KS.

Pat was born April 2, 1950, in Kansas City, KS, the son of Thomas and Ruth Roberts Stanley. He grew up in Lake of the Forest in Bonner Springs, KS with his brother Mike, while his brother Tom served in the Navy. He graduated from Washington High School in 1968, then attended KCK Community College. He began working for the Kansas Turnpike Authority in 1970 as a toll collector, then transferred to the road maintenance crew where he worked until he retired in 2009.

In 1977 he married Janis Armstrong, the mother of his two children Ruthie(1977) and Matt(1980). He and Janis divorced in 1984. He then spent the next few years raising Ruthie and Matt, getting involved in school, sports, Boy Scouts, and Girl Scouts.

In 1990 he met Cindy on a blind date set up by her sister Nancy. On October 3, 1992, they were married in a beautiful ceremony surrounded by family and friends. Together they continued to raise Ruthie and Matt until they graduated. In 1995 they became grandparents to Chris, followed by Maddie in 2003. In retirement, they spent many wonderful years being with their grandkids, their many nieces and nephews, their church family at St Martin’s, and countless number of pets.

Pat was preceded in death by his parents Ruth(1964) and Thomas(1981), his motherin-law   and father in-law Annie(1993) and Raymond Haller(2001), his brother Tom(2004) and sister-in-law Dorothy(2025), brother-in-law Stan Cygan(2010), sister-inlaw and brother-in-law Nancy(2020) and Craig Howell(2021), and passed alongside Cindy his wife and best friend of 33 years. Pat is survived by his children Ruthie and Matt(Larry), grandchildren Chris Linder and Maddie Linder, brother Mike(Theresa), sister-in-law Barbara Runyon(Tim), and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, grand-dogs, and grand-kitties.
