Rebecca (Beckie) Sue Derecskey, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away surrounded by the love of those she cherished most. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, compassion, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family and to Jesus Christ, whom she loved deeply. Her greatest desire was that all would come to know and follow Him.

Beckie was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Doug Derecskey, who passed away in 2004; her beloved grandson, Jalen Scott Applegate; and her parents, Ileta Taylor (Clyde) and Doyle Wolfe (Betty).

She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Heather Michelle Roth and Tiffany Rebekah (Bryon Lee) Applegate, and step-children, Daniel Ray Derecskey and Dawn Roseann Curtis, who were the pride and joy of her life. Beckie’s love extended abundantly to her grandchildren: Landon Graham Applegate, Jaqueline Carolina Pineda, Sierra Jonelle (Nathan) Ice, Dakota Leann Johnson, Troy Alexsander Johnson, Joselin Elizabeth Pu de Lima (Abraham), Cheyenne Rose (Donnie) Weatherford, Aramie Christine Applegate, Ryker Winston Curtis, and Anderson Walker Curtis. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren who brought endless joy to her heart: Neveah Goodwin, Jimmy Lane, Rebecca Pineda, Maverick Applegate, Kiara Pu Lima, Jhett Lane and Gracelyn Bridges.

Beckie never met a stranger. She had a gift for making people feel welcome, loved, and valued. Though she could be quiet at times, her humor, warmth, and vibrant spirit drew people close. She loved deeply and fully, giving her whole heart to her family, friends, and community.

Her faith was the foundation of her life. Beckie was actively involved in her church and especially treasured her Alpha group, where she built meaningful friendships and encouraged others in their walk with Christ. She found happiness in gathering with family, meeting new people, boating, and going on cruises—always embracing life with gratitude and joy.

To know Beckie was to experience kindness, acceptance, and genuine love. She will be dearly missed, forever cherished, and lovingly remembered by all whose lives she touched.

“Her children rise up and call her blessed.” – Proverbs 31:28
