Reta Faye Barlow Vaughn, 81, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2025. The funeral will be held Friday, May 23rd at 10:30 am, at Porter Funeral Home 8535 Monrovia, Lenexa, KS. Burial following in the Woodland Cemetery in Richmond, MO.

Born on December 5, 1943 in Carthage, Missouri, to Luther "Rex" and Alta Barlow, she was raised with an appreciation for family.   After graduation from William Chrisman High School in Independence, Missouri she worked for Aetna and retired in 1996.

Reta enjoyed keeping busy by gardening, spending time with her grandkids, vacationing with her husband, and always making time for her lifelong friends.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 42 years, Dwain Vaughn, son Jeff Handley (Vicky), daughter Jill Handley and stepson Mark Vaughn (Cindy), sister Lawanna Wills and nephew David Wills. Reta was a proud grandma to Mitchell Handley (Amy), Savanna Handley, Alison Vaughn Smith (Tyler), Cierra Handley (Mikey Roberts), Christopher Vaughn (Hailey) and Jesse Handley. She was blessed to have eight great grandchildren and two loving nieces.
