Shawn McGuire will be remembered as a man whose charisma could light up any room and whose smooth talk, confidence, and unmistakable charm made a lasting impression on everyone he met. A talented chef, gifted musician, and determined, successful man, Shawn approached life with resilience, humor, and unwavering loyalty. He was fiercely protective of those he loved, the kind of husband and friend who stood like Superman through life’s challenges, refusing to give up no matter the obstacle. Above all, Shawn’s greatest pride and accomplishment was being the best daddy. His daughter, Sloane, will forever carry the words that became their family affirmation: “Daddy is strong, Daddy is smart, Daddy is brave, Daddy is invincible!” Though his presence will be deeply missed, his strength, laughter, love, and enduring spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Celebration of Life will be 4:00 PM - 10:00 PM, July 24, 2026 at Dubs Dread Golf Course, 12601 Hollingsworth Road, Kansas City, KS 66109. 

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to an education fund for Sloane, Carrying on Shawn's Legacy for Sloane or another charity dear to the family Giving Fore Living.

I am heartbroken to hear of Shawn's passing. He was far more than just a co-worker. He was a tremendous mentor, a caring and encouraging friend, to me, especially through our medical journeys together. We would cheer each other on before our/my Mayo appointments. His wisdom helped shape my career but his warmth, generosity, and kindness impacted my life and many others. We all will miss Shawn and his unwavering belief, strength, and perseverance more than words can ever express. Please know that my family and I will keep you and your families in our thoughts and prayers during this painful time. Heaven has gained an incredible angel.
