Shirley M. Hollingsworth, 91, of Overland Park, KS, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.  Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 AM followed by the Funeral Services at 10:30 AM Saturday, August 22, at Porter Funeral Home, 8535 Monrovia, Lenexa, KS. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Shawnee,  KS. Memorial contributions may be made to Lenexa United Methodist Church.

Shirley was born March 11, 1935, in Bazine, KS to Harvey and Marie Krug.  She married Morris Gene Hollingsworth on October 13, 1956.  She was a member of Lenexa United Methodist Church, the NEA.  Shirley retired as a Second Grade Teacher from T.A. Edison Elementary School in Kansas City, KS.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 44 years, Morris Gene Hollingsworth, and her daughter Susan Hauenstein.  She is survived by her son and his wife, Steven & Janell Hollingsworth, Overland Park, KS, three grandchildren, Erica and her husband Peter Frayling, Adam Hollingsworth and his friend Alex, Grant Hollingsworth and his fiance' Gabi, sister Joan Stieben, and great grandson Oliver Frayling and many extended family and friends. 

She was a dedicated wife, a loving mother and grandmother, and a gracious woman who was loved by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Steve, Janelle, Erica and family, Adam and Garrett: I hate that so many miles and illness has kept us all from seeing each other and not being able to spend some time with Aunt Shirley. She was an amazing woman and a wonderful Aunt. So many memories of her and Uncle Gene coming out to Grandma Grandpa's for Thanksgiving and Christmas and then when Grandma and Grandpa moves to town. You were just a baby then. We were so excited when you and Susie came along and had cousins on Moms side of the family.I know Aunt Shirley is now with Jesus and our Heavenly Father. I will miss talking to her but I know she is no longer in pain. RIP Aunt Shirley and Steve, know we are praying for God to provide you alll peace and comfort. We love you!
