Elizabeth Anne Wohlrab of Overland Park, KS, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2018.  A Rosary will begin at 6:30 PM followed by visitation till 8:30 PM, Friday, October 5, at Cure’ of Ars Catholic Church, 9405 Mission Road, Leawood, KS. Funeral Mass will be 9:30 AM Saturday, October 6, at Cure’ of Ars.  Burial in Resurrection Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Bishop Ward High School in Kansas City, Kansas or Cure’ of Ars Catholic Church in Leawood, Kansas.

            Anne was born to William and Alice Wynne in Kansas City, Kansas. A graduate of Bishop Ward High School, Anne met her beloved husband, Floyd, when they both worked at TWA. A dedicated wife and mother of three, she also pursued a career in real estate and mortgage finance, but her true passion was art. Anne was a gifted artist and life-long learner. She enjoyed drawing and painting, especially life drawing and painting portraits. She was an avid reader, often reading multiple books at a time. She also loved traveling and going to the theater, playing bridge and discussing current events. Anne had a sweet tooth for chocolates and bear claw pastries, and a knack for predicting the stock market. She was a gentle soul with a fierce devotion to God and her family. Her Catholic faith was the foundation for everything she did. Affectionately known as “Grandmother,” she cherished connecting with her grandchildren and sharing her love of learning, art and piano.

         Anne was preceded in death by brothers Vincent, William, Mayor, Joe, and sisters Mary Lou Kehoe and Alice Buffkin.  She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Floyd Joseph Wohlrab, Jr., three daughters Anita Marie (Geoff) Solich, Janet Marie (Joseph) Gose, Natalie Marie (Jim) Atwater; eight grandchildren, Bridget, Madeline, Cooper, Clayton, Cara, Jake, Henry, and Ian; brother Frank and many dear nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Anne was a very sweet, friendly and caring lady. She and I were friends through our art connections and the many drawing classes that we shared together and also through the connection with our mutual friend Joanne Rootes, neighbor of Jim and Mary Lou. Dear Floyd and family, It is with shock and sadness that Richard and I felt when we read of Anne's death in the paper today. We new her as one of the daily 6:30 Mass warriors. She always had the warmest smile, and showed interest and concern with everyone she engaged. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. We know what a tremendous loss this is for you, but we a fortunate in the gift of our faith and knowledge that she rests in Christ's presence and love. This is Mark Wynne, a nephew of Anne. As I grew up in Kansas City, Aune Anne and Uncle Floyd owned a house "up the hill" from Anne' brother Mayor (my father) house. I remember that of the 3 sisters of his, 2 of them (Mary Lou and Alice) would directly challenge Dad when he would perhaps "expand on a story". His other sister, Anne, would more often just smile knowing that sometimes a smile communicates an openess that deflates many potential conflicts/misunderstandings/differences in opinon. A very wise woman. We all play different roles in our own families. Anne was the quiet one (along with Uncle Vince) but you just knew she was very strong in her convictions. I know this because 2 weeks ago a got a finger wag and only one statement from her about continuing to support the Catholic Church. Uncle Floyd has been a very strong and loving husband and father. Ginny and I both have often said to each other how Aunt Anne would just look up to Floyd with that loving smile. Bridget, our middle daughter, remembers Anne and Floyd as a most welcoming couple. Their 3 daughters are soft spoken (well, maybe not Anita) and are fantastic role models as daughters of Anne and Floyd. Aunt Anne, we will miss you. She is probably now next to her Mom and Dad, sisters and brothers, in heaven. I pray that she just gets a word in as the competition could be interesting as Joe, Mayor, and Mary Lou "discuss" topics. I have a feeling that Anne's response might begin with "Now Joe (or Mayor or Mary Lou)" accompanied with that smile, a smile we will always remember! Love, Mark
