William “Bill” Keller, 72, of Shawnee, KS passed away peacefully on the morning of August 12, 2019. He was born on December 15, 1946 and grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska.
He is preceded in death by his parents Jacob and Edna Keller. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sheryl; his stepson Brett Gray; his sisters Cora Mae McKinnon, Nancy Harrington (Patrick), and Claire Burns (Bruce); as well as many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Bill graduated from the University of Nebraska. He then worked at the FDIC as a bank examiner, retiring in 2002 after 34 years of service.
Bill was an avid tennis player, a lover of many kinds of music and he enjoyed reading. He was a sports fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Kansas City Chiefs. He and Sheryl spent many days at their lake house on the Lake of the Ozarks. Bill also loved to travel, often with friends or family.
A visitation will be held at 1:00 on Saturday, August 17 at Porter Funeral Home, 8535 Monrovia, Lenexa, KS 66215. At 2:00 there will be a Celebration of Life led by Chaplain Mark Fenton. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Kansas City Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Association, Heart of America Chapter.
