Fr. Larry was a close friend of my Mother while she was RCIA Coordinator, and also Religious Education Coordinator at Holy Name in Topeka. Fr. Larry was comforting counsel to me as Dad grew sick with leukemia and died while I was in college. He presided as Priest for Cathy and me at our wedding, and baptized Jordan & Hayden. He was my Pastor both at Holy Name, and then again when our family was located in Overland Park a few years, and members of Ascension Parish at St. Thomas Aquinas HS and the new Ascension Church. Rest in peace Father Larry.

Father Larry was our family priest for many years. My mother was his secretary, he was there for us when my father was sick and he was with us the moment my father passed away, and he did his funeral. We were blessed to have him as the priest at both of our daughters weddings and he baptized one of our granddaughters. He was a beautiful priest and a beautiful friend and we are so blessed that he was, and always will be a part of our family. He had such a wonderful way of saying something so profound in an understated and beautiful way. We will miss him and his wonderful sense of humor dearly.

Father Larry was the priest at Miege when I went there. Easy to talk to and a genuine good person. I'm sure this scripture applies to him. Psalm 116:15

Well, Fr. Larry.....You were the first born first cousin in our generation. You made us all very proud and became a priest. I know our whole family was very proud of you. You did so much for everyone--baptisms, weddings, funerals, listened when people needed an ear. God blessed our family when he picked you to be one of His followers. Hope when you arrived in heaven Grandpa, Grandma, and all our family members were there to greet you with opened arms. I will greatly miss talking with you on the phone. Larry and I always enjoyed our visits with you when you came to CA and our kids loved you dearly. Also....thank you for the reunions you so graciously hosted and for the wonderful masses and homilies you gave when you said all the masses for all our reunions. May you rest in eternal peace with Christ, Pat & Larry

friend from Lawrence ,Carbondale ,Illinois

I first knew Larry when I was a fellow parishioner at St. John's in Lawrence. Larry was in major seminary at the time, and I--as a Holy Week and Christmas Mass server-- would serve while Larry was Master of Ceremonies. He was nine years older than me was a great inspiration for my own calling to the priesthood. Fr. Larry came to my ordination and first Mass in the Diocese of Belleville in 1973 as well as to my first Mass in Lawrence. When Larry was assigned as part of the pastoral team to Lawrence, my family and I became even closer friends with him especially since my mother, Dorothy, worked at St. Lawrence Student Center for several years. I visited Larry in New York when he was getting his masters degree from Fordham in Liturgy and staying at the parish on City Island. He took me to the top of the World Trade Center for the first time. Fr. Larry was a dedicated priest and wonderful friend. He had a great family and thought so much of his parents, brother and his brother's family. May Larry rest in God's warm and loving embrace. Fr. Bob Flannery
