I really didn't know Bernie all that well. When I was a sophomore in high school my parents bought a house a few blocks from where his family lived. My friends and I often hung out on the street where his family lived and I would see him occasionally out playing around. His older brother Don was in my class. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing and am praying for all of his family.

I am so sorry for your loss. He was a great officer! He was super knowledgeable and very nice. I remember relieving him all the time in the minimum and he would never leave until all my questions were answered and if I had any concerns. I'll miss him for sure.

Bernie was taken from his family and friends way to early. His absence will be felt by many people. I will always remember my first motorcycle ride. Bernie was dating Susan and had a motorcycle at that time. He gave me my first thrilling ride. Quite a thrill for a young kid. Bernie was always willing to help out with any project. He helped my parents tremendously when they were older and unable to do some of the maintenance on their home. He always jumped in, worked hard and really made it possible for them to stay in their home for many years. He was one of the hardest working people I knew. He also made many beautiful counted cross stitch projects for our family as well. I'm so sorry he was taken from us too soon. I pray for peace and comfort for Susan and Rachel. May the many cherished memories bring you some comfort.
