Dear Meriam and girls, My memories of Pat include his/your immaculate yard that was always the envy of the neighborhood, and his friendly face as I would walk my dog Sinatra past your house. He always smiled and spoke kindly to us and even in recent times, never complained or let on how he might be suffering. Pat seemed positive and upbeat to me, an outsider. And that is one thing I will treasure, his friendliness. I know he wanted to get back to Hawaii so it sounds like he will get his wish at some point. Peace to you and yours as you navigate this transition. Laura Klover

Psalms 73:26 [26]My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever. Ang aking laman at ang aking puso ay nanglulupaypay: nguni't ang Dios ay kalakasan ng aking puso, at bahagi ko magpakailan man. John 11:25 [25]Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: Sinabi sa kaniya ni Jesus, Ako ang pagkabuhay na maguli, at ang kabuhayan: ang sumasampalataya sa akin, bagama't siya'y mamatay, gayon ma'y mabubuhay siya; Extending to you maam and your family Our Love and Prayers .. Pat may have suffered a long time, but to me his life ended too soon too quickly. In my thoughts he is still there smiling, often texting, about our gardens, teaching me about computer functions, updating me often on his doctor visits. It was as if our fondness would be the best of brothers and sisters, one can hear, feel, the presence, of being important, even of the most mundane conversations. He would proudly tell me what he is cooking. It was always a joy to get an unexpected picture of his dish. Flying to Kansas was a blessing. Having a few precious opportunities for pictures, meeting me with my sister, at the airport, going to church, walking into the market, though he was struggling then, he tried to show he was still living. He cooked breakfast before we got up. He was so happy to have us over. Though we saw too in his eyes, how difficult it must to accept his fate, but we were there, come what may, we were there for him. When things turned for the worst, I said my goodbye candidly. Bold and brave. I'm glad I did. For the days and hours went too fast. And now, gone, we will send our love and prayers to Jesus, as we hope He will always be there with you, that you will hear our prayers still. Keep that smile and jolly spirit for you will always be forever in our hearts. Rest in Peace, Bud.
