Rarely in the course of Our Lives do we meet friends who we hold on to, when you met Jerry you knew you had a friend for life. No one ever inspired me as much as he did, so much that I tried my hardest to beat him to work everyday, to have the fire ready so we can sit down, have coffee and conversation about life and its meaning. Jerry was the man with the million dollar smile and friendly chuckle every time I met him over fifty some years. Hard hard working, enthusiastic, cheerful, honest, husband, father, grandparent, friend. The total totem of his character reaches to the sky unlimited. I never heard him say a bad thing about anyone nor anyone say a thing about him , except in admiration and praise. Among good people, he was most excellent. He loved his wife, Sandy and his kids and in a sense the whole world. My wife Linda and I were blessed to know him and be able to call him friend. We are better for it. In a way everyone he met is part of his legacy of a generous spirit. He was the man with the million dollar smile.

If they have pick up trucks in heaven them I’m sure my father, Jim Ramey, rounded his dog, Lady, and picked up jewelry for tour of heaven. Dad and Jerry were competing coaches in Wyandotte County Girls Basketball Association and Dad said back then that if he ever had a house built it would be Jerry that built it because he did good work and was an honest man. When he had his house built, years later, that’s who he called. I think Dad was sad that the house was finished, in a way, because I know he missed spending his days hanging out with and running around with Jerry. I’d see Jerry fairly often over the years at Grinter. I’m a past president of the friends group and attend events sporadically. He took good care of things there and really cared. Jerry was a good man. Of that there is no doubt. Enjoy heaven Jerry. I know you will be among friends.
