Anyone who knew Pat knew that he was one of a kind. He was full of hot air--and loved it. Pat lived "large." You may not have always agreed with him, but you knew Pat was going to be Pat. I am sincerely sorry he left his family so soon. I send my heartfelt condolences to his wife, children, grandchildren, and entire family. There will never be another "little" Pat Scherzer. With sympathy and friendship, Patrice Burns Ludwig

So sorry to hear of Pat's passing. He and his parents were life long friends of my parents and family. Even the Schatz employees (past -Mabel, and future) were all friends and kind to my family. Schatz supplied the beer truck at my wedding almost 50 year ago.. I remember Pat dancing at my wedding with all the cute girls. He had a kind, caring manner and will be missed. The family is in my thoughts and prayers

It has been a few years since we spent a great deal of time together, but Pat was one of my closest and most loyal friends. We had many fun times, and a few sad ones, but you could always count on Pat. Truly sorry our friendship drifted, but if I needed something, he still would have been there. Patrick, this Bud's for you! You will be missed.

Pat was intense about everything he did. Whether operating his business, pursuing investments, running (he regularly ran 7 miles or more a day), or even partying, Pat lived life on his terms and with full gusto. He was a friend when a person was in need and never spoke a word to anyone. He was generous with his success but never a fool. He was a man's man. If were in trouble, I'd want him at my back, This unexpected death has left us with a real loss. The will be the "missing man" at the table for a long time to come.

I knew Pat as little Pat. I did not see him often but when I did he was always a great person to be around and always a ton of fun. I was shocked to hear of his passing. Many years ago Pat was able to get my young family to the front of the line to see the Budweiser horses at Schatz when they were in town. I still have that picture. I know he will be missed by all. Deepest Condolences to the whole Scherzer family from ours. Sincerely and with sorrow, Dan and Lori Turner

I delivered beer for Pat during the KC summers at Schatz, I remember Pat stopping by a liquor store and saying, " as long as its cold and from St. Louis then you can drink it" Pat was one of kind and he used to jog with my uncle Bill.
