Olivia Lynn Piotrowski, a senior at Shawnee Mission East, passed away at her home on Thursday, September 16, 2021.  Visitation will be held at Cure of Ars Catholic Church, 9405 Mission Rd., Leawood, KS on Friday, September 24 at 10:00 a.m., and a Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m.

Olivia was a unique beauty inside and out. She was a runner and competed on the High School Cross Country team. She loved family, fashion, art, photography, and travel. She was known for her stunning red hair and her immense beauty. Her personality was reserved and fun loving, with a little bit of feisty Italian for those that really knew her, and her sense of humor never failed to make everyone laugh!

Olivia’s dream was to move to California, pursue a modeling career, and live by the ocean. Her favorite number was three because of her close and special relationship with her mom and grandma. She had a compassionate heart, which led to her compassion for the elderly and rescue dogs.

One of her favorite travel destinations was Chicago, where she enjoyed seeing family, cheering for the Bulls, and especially shopping on Michigan Avenue. Olivia’s creativity and passion for fashion led her to begin collecting Nike Jordans and designing tee shirts with her dad. Her happy place was any beach, where she was always taking selfies, dancing, and loving life. But when she wasn’t hanging out at the beach, she was doing what all good big sisters do: giving her little brother a good-natured hard time.

Olivia had a beautiful, kind, and compassionate soul, which is what we will always remember and keep in our hearts. We love and miss you, Olivia.

Olivia is survived by her mother, Alison Ball, her father, Andrew Piotrowski and his wife Amy Piotrowski, and her brother, Axel Piotrowski.

Olivia was preceded in death by her Grandmother, Janice Piotrowski, and her Great Uncle, Mark Sbarra of Wichita, KS.

Additional survivors include: Grandmother Lynn Sbarra of Overland Park, KS, Grandfather Mike Ball of Wichita, Great-Grandfather Donald Sbarra and his wife Susanna of Wichita, KS, Great Aunt and Uncle Pam and Butch Dillon, Great Aunt and Uncle Pam and Jim Shreve (Daughters Jenny and Ashley and their children), Great Uncle Scott and Diane Ball and her dogs Binka and Apple.

Grandfather Stanley Piotrowski and his wife Paulette, of Chicago, IL, Grandparents Mike and Karen Miltko of Lenexa, KS, Aunt Sarah (Piotrowski) Shoevlin and her daughter London, Aunt Emily Miltko, Aunt Laurie (Miltko) Denney and her husband Jason and their daughter, Lilly, and her dogs Tank, Chloe, and Gracie Lou.

We met Olivia several times while she was going out with our son Jake Reed. She was always sweet and kind. What a beauty. We cannot image what your family must be going through to lose someone so young. Please know there are many people thinking of your family and wishing you well as the days and months ahead. Olivia was one of my closest friends. There are no words to describe her. She was the most kind, supportive, and caring person I have ever met. The amount of love she had in her heart was absolutely unmatched. She was the kind of person that you could go to no matter what and feel loved and supported. She was just the kind of person you wanted to be around. I know she will be missed so much by so many. Olivia, I love you so much and I will miss you more than you could ever know.

olivia was my best friend, sister, and other half. she meant the world to me. still does. i was with her or at least on facetime with her almost everyday for the past 8 months to a year. she talked to me about everything and i talked to her about everything. she was the sweetest soul. she would come see me at home outside my window when i was grounded. pick me up from school. take my little sister places. took me to get food when i was hungry. i could go on and on. olivia will always still be with us. she is watching over us always. i am so very sorry to allison and andrew for your loss. i am also sorry to everyone else who loved olivia. long live her beautiful soul.
