Loretta Grindel passed away on Tuesday, October 5th, 2021, at Bickford-Mission Springs where she had lived since 2015. She was 96 years old.

Loretta May Beets was born to William and Dorothy Beets on July 27, 1925. On November 14,1942, she married Edmond John Grindel at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Kansas City, Kansas, where she was a lifetime member of the Church and its Altar Society. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edmond, in 2002, Her parents, two brothers, Eugene Beets and Bill Beets, two sisters, Genevieve Haworth and Evelyn Patton, and two grandsons, Kris Allen Grindel and Dennis Grindel, Jr. also preceded her in death.

Loretta is survived by a daughter, Diana (Harry) Workman and a son, Dennis (Mary Jean) Grindel, three grandchildren, Knud Eugene Grindel, Jamie (Dexter) Chance, and Jennifer Workmon. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m. Monday, October 11th, with the visitation to follow at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 11311 Johnson Drive in Shawnee, KS. The Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. with the burial to follow at Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in KCK.
