John (Jack) Sixta, 87 passed away on March 13th, 2022 in Olathe, Kansas. He was born January 9th, 1935 in Kansas City, Kansas. He was the 12th of 18 children born to Ernest and Elizabeth Sixta.

Jack graduated from Bishop Ward High School in 1952 and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. On April 12th, 1958 he wed Roberta (Pursley) Sixta. Their union produced 5 children, 17 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Jack was a devoted Catholic, husband, father, and grandfather. 

Jack was a parishioner at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Kansas City, Kansas. He was a member of the Green Club and was involved with many fundraisers including the steak and fish dinners. Jack and Bobby spent many hours together with their friends, volunteering and serving the parish community. Jack worked for Bendix/Allied-Signal and he retired after 30 years of service. After retirement he went on to work for the church as a custodian. 

Jack and Bobby were dedicated to the practice of praying the Rosary daily. Jack was an avid gardener who enjoyed sharing his produce of vegetables, peonies and roses. Jack and Bobby spent many summers traveling around the country. Jack was a jack of all trades who could fix mostly anything. 

Jack was preceded in death by his wife Bobby who passed away July 30th, 2021. Jack is survived by 8 of his 18 siblings, Rita Simpson, Rose Ann (Dani) Stolte, Marcella (Bunny) Bragdon, Sylvia Harrsion, Madonna Davis, Patricia Krambeck, Peggy Kehne, and Vickie Willitt, and by his daughter Joan (Sixta) Henderson ; son, John Sixta; son Thomas Sixta; daughter, Theresa (Sixta) Zawacki and son-in-law Carl Zawacki; son, Joseph Sixta and daughter-in-law Jenny (Thorne) Sixta; 17 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Jack’s family would like to thank everyone for their prayers, love, and support during the time of his passing and the celebration of his life.

When I was a homebound minister at St. Pat's, I would give him & his lovely wife communion. I would always stay & visit. He was a great guy!!! He will be missed dearly!!!!!

Jack was a friend and mentor to me in the Green Club. He worked tirelessly, he and Bobbie. She used to have me sing "their song" I Can't help falling in love with you by Elvis. Rest in Peace, Until we meet again!!! Prayers to the family, all my Green Club brothers, and their wives. I will remember both you and Bobbie fondly in my memories.
