I first met Jim when I joined the Kansas City Civil War Roundtable around 2011. We always sat at the same table. He was always friendly and enjoying conversing about anything. I could tell he was a faithful Catholic and would sometimes ask me as a priest questions in regard to the Church and Church teaching. I will pray for eternal rest and peace for him. Fr. Richard W. I am sorry to hear of Jim's death. May he rest in peace. I got to know him from sitting at the same table at the dinner meetings of the Kansas City Civil War Roundtable. I always enjoyed our conversations. I could tell from his remarks and questions that he was a faithful Catholic. I will miss him. I have been praying for him and will remember him at Mass on Friday, July 8.

I am still finding it hard to believe that I won’t be seeing his smile and hearing his laugh on the earth again. He truly was one of a kind. I miss him so much already.

Dale and I are greatly saddened to hear of Jim's passing. He always had a smile and a story to share from either his teaching career or his latest stamp find. He will truly be missed at the next stamp auction. Hugs to you and your family, Ashley

Jim and I go back to the early to mid 1950s and 8 years at St. James Grade School in midtown KCMO. He was my best friend for many years. I have many fond memories of spending time with him and his brother Mark at their home at 40th and Holmes in KC, the acorn fights in Gillham Park, and the dodge ball games at Scout meetings at St. James Center even though he put my arm in a sling as a result therof. I was so proud of him when he made Eagle Scout. I was with Jim down at Osceola the day his father had a heart attack and died while water skiing. I think that was the closest we had ever been. And I was proud of him when he made All-State in football at De la Salle. As he went his way and I went mine we kind of lost touch. But then one day, out of the blue, I received a call from Jim at my law office, asking me to teach his history class at Westport about law. It was truly enjoyable. We never completely lost contact after that. Rest in Peace, Jimmy
