Raymond Gilmore Carleton Jr. was born July 18th, 1941, in Kansas City, Kansas. Son of Raymond Carleton Sr and Marguerite Carleton. He passed away May 15, 2025, at his home in Mission, KS, surrounded by his family at the age of 83.
Raymond graduated from Shawnee Mission North high school, in 1959. He worked at Certain-Teed Corp and retired from Johnson County Wastewater. Raymond married the love of his life, Irene, in 1962, and they had two children.
Raymond enjoyed hunting and fishing all his life, as well as a short-lived drag racing stint in his Pontiac GTO during his early years. Later in life, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, attending vintage car shows, and going bowling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, DeniseCarleton Fraser, and sister, Carol Puckett. He is survived by andwill be missed lovingly by his wife of 62 years, Irene Carleton,son, Dean Carleton and his wife, Jolynne, granddaughter, Amanda Carleton and her husband, Jackson Peter. Along with his siblings, sister, Sharon Schultz, and brother, Jim Carleton, other relatives, and many friends.
The Funeral Service will begin at 3 p.m. with visitation starting at 2 p.m. Friday, May 23rd, at Porter Funeral Home, 8535 Monrovia, Lenexa, KS 66215. The family requests in lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the Alzheimer's Association, www.ALZ.org
