David (Mike) Powell, 76, passed away September 19. 2025.

Mike was born September 12, 1949 in Kansas City, Kansas to B.F. and Suzanne (Ballard) Powell. He graduated from Wyandotte High School. After graduation, he proudly enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served for 12 months before receiving an honorable medical discharge.

Mike spent his 76th birthday and a few days before his passing, on a trip to the Lake of the Ozarks with his brother, Jim and sister in law, Pam. During that time, he did a lot of reminiscing about the fun summers with his brothers and Grandpa at their Grandparents cabin at the lake.

Mike was a machinist by trade, retiring in 2018.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roscoe and Nancy Powell, grandmother, Bess Williams, his parents, B.F. (Frank) and Suzanne Powell and his brother, Thomas (Frankie) Powell who passed away on July 15, 2025. Mike and Frankie will be greatly missed by their family.

Mike is survived by his brother, Jim (Pam) Powell, one nephew, Sonny (Melissa) Powell, one niece Lisa (Steve) Mansaw, four great nephews, Christian Robinson, Cody Powell, Erion Mansaw, Tanner Powell and one great niece, Arielle Mansaw.

Following his wishes cremation has occurred. The family will hold a celebration of life at a future date.
