William J. Bruning, 89, of Lenexa, KS, passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2025.  Visitation will be from 6:30-8:00 PM, Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, with a Rosary prayed at 7:40 PM.  Funeral Mass will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, October 1, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 11300 W. 103rd, Overland Park, KS 66214.  Burial in Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, KS.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions Blessed Brian Home Orphanage in India or iCare Ministries, Inc

     Bill was born November 23, 1935, in Omaha, NE. Bill served in the United States Army Reserves.  He was a commercial underwriter for Travelers Insurance for 35 years retiring in 1993.  Bill and Ann were founding members of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and recently Bill was an active member of St. Paul's Catholic Church. 

He was preceded in death by his first wife Ann Marie (Reznicek) Bruning in 2005 and his second wife Sharon E. (Fleming) Bruning in 2019.Bill is survived by six children and their spouses Suzanne and Ernest Kary, Olathe, KS, Jeffrey and Shannon Bruning, Columbia, SC, Gregory and Beth Bruning, Overland Park, KS, Rev. William Bruning, Overland Park, KS, Linda and Peter Hodges, Lenexa, KS,Amy and Michael Bartkoski, Lenexa, KS, 15 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren and many extended family and friends.
