Nancy Maureen Payne, 64, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City.

A visitation will be held at 9:00 AM, followed by the Funeral Liturgy at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Church of the Ascension, 9510 West 127th Street, Overland Park, KS. Burial will proceed at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery, 7601 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64138. The family kindly requests that flowers be sent to Church of the Ascension. Nancy was born on June 22, 1961, in Kansas City, MO the daughter of William and Loretta Payne. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved brother Tony.
Nancy lived her life with boundless joy, kindness, and an ever-generous heart. She found her greatest happiness in spending time with her two boys & family, always eager to lend a hand, share a laugh, and make lasting memories. Nancy’s heart for others extended far beyond her family. She dedicated much of her life to working with children, especially those with special needs. She approached this work with an unwavering dedication and deep compassion. She was a true ray of light to those around her.
Nancy had a passion for music and dancing, often attending live music events and expressing herself with colorful, vibrant clothes that matched her radiant personality. Her love for food was equally as strong—she was an excellent cook, always sharing meals and moments of warmth with those she loved.
Nancy is survived by her sons, Phillip Stoddart (Husband to Meagan Stoddart) and Peter Stoddart, as well as her siblings Chris, Cathy, Carole, Cindy, Greg, and Nick (Twin). She is also deeply loved and missed by her cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and many extended family members.
Nancy was the sweetest woman—she had a heart full of warmth and love, and her presence will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
