Feb 15, 1998---Oct 11, 2025

Tristan McCall Wiesing was born on February 15, 1998 and peacefully entered eternal life on October 11, 2025. Tristan was a true warrior, a gentle soul with an infectious smile who lit up every room he entered. Though he faced many challenges throughout his life, he embraced each day with joy, courage, and a deep love for life’s simple pleasures.

He loved being on the boat, riding in the golf cart, watching tractors and trucks at work, listening to music, playing with his nieces, nephew and his beloved dogs. These moments brought him happiness, and his presence brought that same happiness to others. Tristan’s quiet strength and kind heart were an inspiration to all who knew him. He taught us patience, resilience, and how to find joy in small things.

Throughout his life, Tristan received care from incredible teams of medical professionals who became part of our extended family. At Children’s Mercy, we are especially grateful to the staff of 2 Henson, including the nurses, CNAs, and providers who walked alongside us during some of Tristan’s longest and most difficult hospital stays. Their compassion, dedication, and genuine kindness helped ease the burden and brought comfort to our entire family. We formed lifelong bonds with many of them, and their support will never be forgotten.

At KU Medical Center, Tristan was met with that same spirit of care and connection. From the warm greetings in Interventional Radiology to the team on Unit 65 ICU, everyone went above and beyond to make sure Tristan and all of us were treated with dignity, love, and respect. Their efforts made it possible for Tristan to spend his final days surrounded by family, friends, and even his dogs.

Tristan is now at peace in the loving arms of God, free from pain and suffering. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will forever live in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know him. His spirit will continue to guide and inspire us.

He was preceded in death by Helen Wiesing (Beebee Grandmother), Greg Neylon (Step grandfather).  Survived by: David Wiesing (Father) Michelle Wiesing (Mother), Heather Wiesing (Step-mother) Joe Hernandez (Step-Father), Victor Wiesing (Brother), Jenna Wiesing (Sister in-law), Mattie Wiesing (Sister), Samantha Hernandez (Step sister), Brittani Ogden (Step sister), Kody Kaufman (engaged to Brittani), Brianna Poletis (Step Sister), Jacob Poletis(Step brother-in law), Ruby and Hazel Wiesing (Nieces), Caroline Ogden (Niece), Greyson  Kaufman (Nephew), Edward Wiesing (Grandfather), Mary Anne Wiesing (Grandmother), Gene Hernandez (Grandfather), Karen Hernandez (Grandmother), Marti Saathoff (Grandmother). Tristan was such a joy when we knew him as a young boy. He was soo determined to be mobile. We remember what a beautiful smile he had! He can now pray for us as he lives with God in heaven 🥰

What a joy to live as neighbors and celebrate Tristan’s incredible smile and enthusiasm sitting in the driveway and greeting everyone who walked by. His excitement for our dogs being walked by was so uninhibited and every dog knew the genuine excitement of his spirit greeting them with abandon. His light has gone out but the warmth of his glow remains. Thank you for sharing his life with us..

I'd like to send my condolences to my sister Michelle and Tristan's dad David my deepest sympathy for their/our loss. I remember when I was younger and Tristan was younger seeing him and he always had the biggest smile on his face and when I hugged him I felt his strength and love. I will never forget those moments. I'm deeply saddened by his passing and I know he is up in heaven with Jesus and his cousins. I love you Tristan. Your Uncle Jake.

When you marry into a family, it’s kind of a gamble with the in-laws, but I totally lucked out with Tristan as a brother-in-law. I have so many good memories with him, but the ones that stand out the most are our hospital sleepovers. Whenever he was feeling up to it, we’d turn getting ready for bed into a little dance party. What I’ll miss most are his hugs. Tristan didn’t do quick hugs, he hugged with his whole body, the kind that made you never want to let go. I’m so thankful that Ruby and Hazel got to see him nearly every day. To them, he was the annoying big brother, stealing their toys and following them around, but they loved their Uncle Tristan like crazy and he will be missed every day.

I just wanted to share a quick story about Tristan. I had the privilege of meeting him one weekend down at the lake. As most of you know he loved more than anything to sit on the golf cart. Michelle had taken him down to the dock to sit on the golf cart and watch. As we were all having a good time all of a sudden out of the corner of my eye I see the golf cart slowly going into the lake with Tristan in it…Michelle with her mama bear instincts as well as a few others. (besides Richard he thought he was quickly moving to get to Tristan however he had a noodle around him so he was moving very very slowly but kept saying I’m coming.) so Michelle myself my husband Jeff, and eventually Richard were able to stop the golf cart from in just enough time from keeping Tristan from going all the way under water which could have been very dangerous for him . To all of us It was very traumatic, but to Tristan having the time of his life with the biggest smile on his face. As usual. His smile lit up a room you will truly be missed keep smiling Tristan.!

Of all the children I have had the pleasure of being with, Tristan was it. He was never unhappy. Always smiling and waving. He brought me so much joy. Jan Kehlbeck would always bring him into my room. I am sure she was there to greet him in our heavenly home. May God comfort you and yours at this time.
