Louise De Nicola, age 83, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2026 surrounded by loved ones. Born in Nashville, TN on March 11, 1942, she was a beloved wife, devoted mother, adored grandmother and great grandmother who left the doors of her home open to all. She will be remembered for her kindness, humor, spirited personality, service to others, love of nature and all God’s creatures, and telling you what to do. Louise is survived by her husband of 46 years, Phil, her children Craig, Steve, Brian, Trish, Stephanie, step-daughter Lisa, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, and her two beloved fur babies Buddy and Scooter. She is predeceased by her adoptive parents Henry and Frances, brother Tom, son Scott and grandson Michael. A celebration of Life will be held on March 7, 2026 at 1 p.m. at The Light KC, near and dear to Louise’s heart, 10001 W 88th St, Overland Park, KS 66212.

In accordance with Phil’s faith, a memorial service with visitation, Rosary and Mass will also be held on March 14, 2026 at 9 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 11300 W 103rd St, Overland Park, 66214. The family wishes to thank the wonderful doctors, nurses and staff of Advent Health and the staff of Porter Funeral Home for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Light KC or the American Cancer Society in Louise’s memory.
