Wallace A Grimsley, known as Wally, born in Independence, Missouri, passed away on April 27,2026.
A much loved husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother.
Wally served in the Army during the Vietnam War and later graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business .
Wally worked over 30 years in the fire and safety sales and service industry. He was an avid fan of all sports including KU basketball, the Royals , and above all , the Kansas City Chiefs.
His greatest love was watching his children play sports for many years, especially competitive soccer.
He will always be remembered for his kindness, quick wit, an amazing sense of humor, and a loving heart.
Wally is preceded by his father Argyle Grimsley, mother Millicent Grimsley and brother David Grimsley.
Wally is survived by his wife Martha, children David Grimsley of Kansas City, Missouri, daughter, Erin Venetis of Lake St. Louis, Missouri and son Scott (Julie) Grimsley of Fitchburg, Wisconsin and five grandchildren Luciana Venetis, Elijah Venetis, Stella Venetis, Conrad Grimsley, and Calvin Grimsley.
The Celebration of Life will be held on May 30, 2026 at 1:30 pm at Johnny’s Tavern, 8719 West 95 Street, Overland Park, Kansas.
Military honors will be at 2:00 pm.
