Jan 22, 1981---Jun 17, 2026

Megan Bendorf Pizarro, was called home by the Lord on June 17, 2026, after battling pancreatic cancer for more than 16 months.  She was a strong warrior in the battle and did everything in her power to beat the disease and continue serving others.

She was born January 22, 1981 in Louisville, Kentucky, to Tom and Linda Bendorf.  She grew up in Louisville, graduated from Mercy Academy and continued her education at the University of Kentucky, where she joined Kappa Delta Sorority, and went on to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing.  She moved to the Kansas City area where she worked in marketing positions for a number of local companies.

She met her husband, Marcio Pizarro, and was married in her hometown in 2011, and gained an instant daughter, Angie.  Their daughter BrandtLee was born in 2014.

Megan was a good friend to many, and was kind, thoughtful, caring, and generous.  She enjoyed exercising and being active in the outdoors, and loved to travel especially to the beach.  She was a Girl Scout leader, member of the PTO board, assistant soccer coach, and member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church.

Megan was preceded in death by her grandparents Tom and Muriel Bendorf and Roy and Martha Collins.  She is survived by her husband Marcio, daughters Angie and BrandtLee, her parents Tom and Linda Bendorf, her brother Seth (Kelly) nephews Austin and Collin Bendorf, an extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins and her animals Neo and Timber.  Megan was an avid collector of friendships some of whom were her best friend since birth Laura Beth Merrell, the Mercy Girls, the Fike Girls, the Good Shepherd Moms, and dear friends Jess, Shayla, Melanie, Barb, and the best boss, John Wendorff, and many, many more.

Megan requested donations be made in her memory to Mercy Academy in Louisville in lieu of flowers.

Megan was my manager at CUKC. Although I only knew her for a short time, I can say that she was a wonderful person. I loved the conversations we had and she was such a supportive and cheerful peer to have, whether something was related to our work or not. May she rest in peace. Sincerely, Cameron Loew
