Dr. Carol A. Polo, 88, of Shawnee, Kansas, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2026.  Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 AM followed by the Funeral Services at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, July 28th, at Porter Funeral Home, 1835 Minnesota Ave. Kansas City,  KS.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the Salvation Army of Greater Kansas City. 

     Carol was born January 23, 1938, in Kansas City, KS.  Carol received her PHD from Kansas State University and went on to be the Mental Health Program Developer for Health Midwest/Truman Medical Center retiring in 2001.  She was a member of the State Board of Missouri Substance Abuse Counselors, MO & KS Salvation Army Advisory Boards, Presbyterian Manor Advisory Board, Cornerstone Community Church and a volunteer at the KC Humane Society.  She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Beaula Abernathy and her daughter-in-law Tami Rost.  Carol is survived by her son Tom Rost II, grandsons John Rost, Alex Rost and Sara Rost and her Great Grandsons Reed and Jamison Rost.
