Family and friends are invited to a visitation and reception at the Saint Philip Neri parish hall, where a meal will be served.

Rosie was born on July 25, 1933, in Anadarko, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of George and Susana Gomez and grew up with 14 siblings, as well as two cousins who were like siblings to her. Rosie was a proud mother to seven children: Linda Sue Moyer of Lenexa, Kansas; Ronnie Jene Ladon of Farmington, New Mexico; Kathryn Diane Ladon Collins of McCloud, Oklahoma; Gary Walter Ladon Jr.; Leslie James Hendershot Sr.; Larry Joe Hendershot of Midwest City, Oklahoma; and Rita Ecker of Amarillo, Texas. She was also blessed with 24 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, and 26 great-great-grandchildren, her legacy will continue to live on for many generations to come.

Rosie devoted her life to caring for her family. She cherished time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She often made homemade tortillas for family gatherings and patiently taught her grandchildren to cook her favorite dishes. Rosie’s kindness showed in many small ways. Her door was always open to anyone needing a warm meal or a kind word, and she always remembered birthdays with a thoughtful call.

Rosie lived in Anadarko, Oklahoma, until 1968, when she and her family moved to Midwest City. She called Midwest City home for 51 years and made lasting memories with her family. In 2019, she moved to Lenexa, Kansas, to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Jim Moyer.

Rosie found much happiness in her last years in Lenexa. She became active in her church, Holy Trinity, and joined the quilting group, Trinity Threaders. Rosie prayed the rosary daily for her loved ones. She also enjoyed dancing and listening to live music.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her 14 siblings, her close cousin Jesse Jaques, her husband Ernest Thompson, two sons, Gary Walter Ladon Jr. and Leslie James Hendershot Sr., and her grandson, Russell Ladon.

Rosie will be deeply missed by her family. The family offers heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported and cared for Rosie throughout her life, especially in her final days. Friends and loved ones are invited to share their favorite memories of Rosie during the reception as we celebrate her life together.
