Jeffery Michael Johnson was welcomed into the arms of his Lord on July 10, 2018. Jeff was born on May 21, 1969 in Kansas City, MO. He graduated from Curé of Ars, Rockhurst High School and Rockhurst College, where he was the soccer goalie for four years. On May 24, 1997, he married the love of his life Ashley Embry.

Jeff had an intense love for his family and a strong faith. He was a gentle soul with a passion for soccer and loved the outdoors, hiking fishing, and hunting. I enjoyed seeing Jeff from time to time around the office. He was very pleasant to visit with and shared stories of his family and the trips back to Alma. My prayers go out to his wife and two sons. Jeff will be missed!

Dear Ashley,Jack, & Jacob, I knew Jeff briefly thru our work together; & I really really liked him; just a really great guy. Kind, funny, encouraging, gentle. He totally loved you 3, & spoke of you whenever we were together. I am shocked & oh so sad @ his untimely passing. My heart is broken for you 3 & your extended families. May the God of all comfort & mercy be your Peace during this time. Mourning with you in Christ, Jerry Huber & the Gotchurback Team

When I consider the standard things people say at funerals, like "Deepest Sympathy," or "I'm sorry for your loss," they don't seem adequate in this situation. The void created by Jeff's death can't be described with those kind of phrases. Everyone who ever met J.J. at Rockhurst liked him; he was a positive force and a purveyor of levity and joy. Cling to the fact that the Redeemer lives, and believe that J.J. is standing within sight of Him now. There is always hope in Christ. He has the mojo to bring light to any darkness, and He is the only One with the power to restore the soul.
