Dec 14, 1953---Dec 11, 2021

Brian Joseph Dickason, 67, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away on December 11, 2021 at the University of Kansas Medical Center in the company of his family.

Brian was born on December 14, 1953 to Joseph J. Dickason and Victory Hawkey Dickason in Kansas City, Kansas at Providence Medical Center. He graduated from Bishop Ward High School in 1972. Brian went on to join the United States Air Force in 1974. He started his career at Jesco Resources, working his way up to Field Technical Service Manager. He worked for Jesco Resources(acquired by Axel), for 36 years before he retired in 2016.

Anyone who knew Brian knew that he had a heart of gold. He had a matter- of- fact personality with the best intentions. When he was joking he would start by having a cheeky tone quickly followed by a warm jovial laugh. He was also a very private person, who would always let you know just enough, followed by his signature saying, "Wait and See".

He was the best grandpa. Always wanting the best for his grandchildren Alec, Brooklyn, Aubrey, and Jacob. He was always giving them crazy old man advice, that will benefit them for years to come. Most importantly showing them unconditional love. He will always be in their hearts. He was a father to two beautiful daughters, Katie and Erin, who he loved and would do anything for. The time spent with them he cherished.  If he could have given them the world, he would have done so gladly. Life is fleeting and time is the only thing we can't get more of. Brian understood this, sharing a happy and adventurous life, with his partner Michele, for 25 years. Enjoying their time together trying new restaurants, traveling, and watching KU basketball. Brian also enjoyed teasing and spending time with his two son- in- law's Anthony and Jake, who he approved of, or he would have definitely let it be known. If you knew Brian you knew his family meant more to him then anything in this world, something he often mentioned.  Friends are family too and Brian had many friends, old and new, that he enjoyed spending time with. There wasn't a place he couldn't go where he did not know someone.

Brian had always enjoyed fishing whether it be with family or friends. He would often take trips when he was younger with his father and brothers. Later in life, if it was a beautiful day out, he'd be gone fishing with his buddies for the day.

He was predeceased by his father, Joseph Dickason; mother, Victoria Dickason; nephew Richard Dickason, Jr.; brother-in-law John Duckers. He is survived by partner , Michele;  two daughters Katherine(Anthony) and Erin( Jake); and grandchildren Alec, Brooklyn, Aubrey, and Jacob II. He is also survived by two brothers Bill(Penny) and Rich(Cindy); sister Mary Ann Duckers,  and nieces and nephews.

There will be a celebration of life on Tuesday, January 25th from 6-9pm. It will be located at Grunauer restaurant, 101 W 22nd St, Kansas City, MO 64108.

My heart is so heavy to learn of Brian's death. Our "dead-end" gang just got together about a month ago, and Brian was his usual funny self. He was always a good sport and took my teasing with a smile. How I will miss this guy. I am a little mad at him for ditching all of us so soon. Sending condolences to his daughters Katie and Erin and grandchildren, as well as Michelle, her family, and the entire Dickason group. One of a kind. With sympathy and prayers, Patrice (Burns) Ludwig

Brian, I have countless memories of you.. from a little girl asking you “where’s Erin?” before saying hello. ( for which you were a good sport about) to just recently seeing you in my dads kitchen babbling on about politics. You were always a joy to send time with, even in -6 degree weather at a chiefs game. You are loved and missed dearly. Erin&Katie- sending my love and condolences.
